Being the first authentic Japanese Robata-style robata restaurant in Charlotte, BAKU was looking for a modern brand with a touch of traditional rustic edge. Having to capture the essence of their traditional cooking method, BAKU needed to stay true to the Japanese Robata-style roots.
Robata, meaning “around the fire”, we fired up a brand identity that ignites the visual palette. Developing a timeless brand that represents the highest quality of Japanese robata cuisine. You may initially noticed the logo wordmark as two subliminal skewer / chopsticks in the “b” and the “k”.
